Stripes On Stripes

So I'm feeling stripes, can you tell? No didn't think so! This recent mono number with hints of grey had me feeling like a Parisian Mary Poppins or something.
I recently picked up this skirt when out shopping and I was instantly drawn to the stripe print. I love a good midi skirt, I just find them super flattering and so sophisticated. This one fits so nicely because of the pleat detailing at the waist and gives that 50's full skirt effect. The stripes are the negative the top and slightly closer together which means that they compliment each other and sit together nicely.

Using an old fashion trick of matching my shoes and bag completes the look. Also in this muted grey blue shade it keeps the outfit subtle and not too in your face, especially with the bold statement that the stripes make. Horizontal stripes can sometimes be hard to pull off but I think as these garments have so much shaping its easier for everyone to wear.

Jheeze, how many times have I said stripes? Stripes, stripes, stripes...okay think I'm done.
