Graduation Ball | What I Wore

Our graduation ball for Birmingham City University was something my friends and I had highly anticipated since finishing our courses and handing in our final assignments. What better way to celebrate than in style, a cocktail on arrival, three course meal followed by a live band and DJ set? I had a ball - get it?!
As I was getting ready for one out of two things that mark the end of my time at university I wanted to ensure I made the most of every moment. I actually came across this dress when doing something for a project and couldn't get it out of my head. I had to admit I was slightly worried about the full white gown originally incase I was mistaken for a misplaced bride. I ordered it nonetheless as there is no harm in trying it on and after my dads speech about how I have never cared what anyone has ever thought about what I've worn before so why let it bother me now I kept it. It is a magically dress that honestly made me feel like a princess for the night and there is nothing that would've rather worn to such an unforgettable event.

The mesh inserts, low back and undeniably 50's inspired dress was the perfect grad ball dress. I had the best evening celebrating with my housemates and the rest of class 2016. I'm glad that it was a mixture of courses meaning all of the people I adore from home and my course all in one place. With a complimentary cocktail on arrival, photobooths and professional photographers there wasn't a moment to go uncaptured. Luckily my mum also came to help me film a get ready with me (which is coming your way soon) and was able to take some outfit pictures of my outfit and group shots, well after a lot of directing anyway.
You probably recognise this bag from my recent unboxing video and now you can see more of my concept, I wonder if it was what you were expecting. I wanted to add some colour to help break up the white and opted for this beautiful lilac shade to do the job. It matches my shoes perfectly which is one of the items I had the most compliments on. Again I was looking for some colour and these floral beauties were a dream come true. The rose gold detailing is something I think we can all agree is enough to buy them! I mean the attention to detail from the small bows placed at the back, the plate around the heel and sole of the shoe are simply stunning. As if I didn't feel princessy enough engraved on the bottom is "Cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes can change your life". I have to admit they aren't the most comfortable but completely worth it. I lasted until the dancing began which was longer than I had originally thought so I'm pleased.

  1. Wow I love that your dad talked you into wearing the dress! Good taste, Dad :) You look incredible! Like a modern Audrey Hepburn. I also love the shoes :)
