Maybelline The Nudes Palette

A new eyeshadow palette in browny nudes from Maybelline for under ten pounds, got you interested yet? Well keep reading!
So Maybelline recently brought out a new palette called "The nudes". I had high hopes at the thought of what could be a magically nude affordable palette. With twelve shades in total some shimmer some matte it had the recipe to be something even Mary Berry could enjoy!

However I'm not completely sold with the first application it all seems okay until you try to build it or blend it into your crease. I soon came to realise I was actually taking product off rather than putting more on so works better as more of a "one sweep wonder" kind of product. This means that the colour pay off isn't that great as you are only able to get a light wash of each shade. The pigmentation is okay so it's not awful but a shame you can't get a really solid colour or show off those blending skills as well as you would like.

One thing which I think it great is that this is perfect for beginners. With so many colours it can be hard to think where to start and Maybelline on the back gives you some duos, trios or quads to use together. This makes using the colours and knowing where to place them really easy for if you are new to eyeshadows. These are just guidelines but perfect to follow if you are in a rush or feeling overwhelmed.
The concept is there it just wasn't completely exactitude which is a real shame but still a cheap alternative if you don't want to spend to much on the higher end palettes.

  1. Thanks for the review, too bad the color payoff isn't so great, I was looking for a cheaper nude palette, because I'm kinda scared of travelling with my Lorac Pro, it's too precious. :D
