London Cafe Series: Cafe Miami, Hackney

So my Mum came down for the weekend and we built my wardrobe... thrilling story I know but as a midday break we wondered out for lunch. With my Cafe Series at the forefront of my mind I was eager to try another place on my list of wonders. Next up was Cafe Miami!

I was hoping to spread this one and the previous one out as the are both in the Hackney are but don't worry more variety to come! If you haven't checked out my previous post of Palm Vaults, then I would 100% head there after scrolling through this. We walked in and asked for a table for two near the window as who doesn't love to people watch. Surprisingly we weren't greeted by a queue for this small independent which was much to my relief as I was starving.

As they handed over the pastel blue and pink menu's my eyes glistened with excitement firstly catching eye on the White Hot Chocolate, yum. I knew straight away I would have to give it a taste and it was as good as it sounds. Perfectly sized and not at all sickly I was seriously considering seconds, writing about it is making me want to go all the way back just to let my tastebuds relive that joy. Mary (my mum) opted for classic english tea which came with the most adorable milk bottle you've ever seen. I feel like my vocabulary in the post is very over dramatic but honestly it's just as pretty as the photos. I mean come on the sugar is in shapes of clouds and love hearts, I was in dream world.
As we settled in to our seats, meals ordered, chatting away about our week at work I felt so at ease. It was only when our mains arrived and I stopped talking that I noticed the 90's R'n'b music in the background, when Destiny's Child came on it almost felt like home. I opted for the Quesadilla to keep me topped up for all the labour work I had planned for that day. Whilst Mary went for the classic avocado on toast... which my sister and I have got her completely hooked on. The flavours were delicious! With the inner bean filling, cheese, egg topped with paprika it went down a treat. I also added Halloumi because why the hell not? I would highly recommend doing the same if you get that dish. I asked mum what she thought and I got that "mmm sooooo good" response, so I think she was just as happy with my choice of cafe. The blue and peach plates were swiftly removed after clearing our plates by the friendly staff. As we weren't ready to get up and leave just yet we order a second round of drinks, another tea for Mary and a Pink Lemonade for me (which I took part for the road).

The interiors reminded me so much of a retro diner, with the lights in particular adding a strong influence from the 1950's. The hues of blush pink, baby blue and white all complimented one another perfectly. With the option of a meal or sweet snack there is something for everyone. Plus you can take away, ideal if you are on-the-go. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely go back and maybe try the pancakes as they were my second option.
Hope you enjoyed my second installment of my London cafe series!
